A rented truck attempted to breach White House security barriers but failed when the 20-year-old Indian immigrant Sai Varshith Kandula withstood the barriers in 2023, as reported by Reuters.

In July, Trump barely escaped death after a Pennsylvania gunman fired at him at a campaign rally, which resulted in an ear wound. A Secret Service investigation revealed both poor communication pathways and inadequate attention by security staff allowed an attempted near-attack to occur.
