U.S. Hit by Deadly Winter Weather: Snow, Ice, and Freezing Temps Cause Havoc

United States: A big winter storm is coming to the Great Lakes and Northeast, bringing more snow and causing problems for travel. Snow from Lake Erie is still affecting areas nearby and could last until Wednesday. Many people have already been stuck because of the snow, and more trouble is expected as the storm continues.
And the weather will continue with gusto this week: A strong clipper storm is expected to move in from Quebec on Thursday after forming in Canada and passing through the Great Lakes into Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
As reported by NBC News, about 5 million people are at risk of winter weathers and lake effect snow on Tuesday in the Great Lakes region; South Bend Indiana; Muskegon Michigan; Cleveland; Erie Pennsylvania, and Syracuse New York.
Slight moderation in snow-affected areas is expected by Wednesday when a clipper weather system should bring snow to the interior Northeast and New England and intensifying snowfall in areas down- wind of the Great Lakes. NBC meteorologist Michelle Grossman said early Tuesday that some areas could get 12 inches of snow.

Other regions are sensing the freeze while temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees Fahrenheit below the averages for this season in the Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic, and the Southeast.
In Pennsylvania, about 5.4 feet of snow accumulated and homes and vehicles and there prevailed there chaos on the roads.
Troopers reported to the scene of a Monday afternoon accident on I-94, near Hartford, Van Buren County where 14 passenger cars and three semi-tractors were involved in the crash which left one driver critically injured, MSP said.
Sky views revealed a long slow moving traffic line while the snow kept on falling.
Social media users posted photos of drivers having to shovel their vehicles and the roads in Erie, where more than a foot of snow has fallen. imply, one video depicts a driver in Erie trying to remove a number of feet of snow from the windshield of a car. Thirty plus cars were half hidden by the snow in a parking lot in Erie County and one couldn’t see them.
