Trump’s Economic Talk Includes ‘Stupid’ Insults for Biden and Harris

In a speech intended to outline economic policies, Trump diverted attention by calling Biden and Harris “stupid,” overshadowing his planned message.

Ex-President Donald Trump

United States: On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump gave a speech in Asheville, North Carolina, that was originally meant to highlight his economic plans. However, he ended up talking about President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and even windmills.

Criticisms Over Policy Focus

As reported by NBC news, while Trump’s supporters had hoped he would focus on policy differences with Harris, his speech was mostly filled with criticisms of top Democrats instead. Despite discussing some policy areas, his remarks were overshadowed by personal attacks.

“For the four years she’s cackled while the economy burned, “Trump said of Harris and that’s the laugh of a crazy person I tell you she’s crazy”

He also called her and Biden “Stupid” and later dismissing Walz as “a clown”

Policy Proposals and Controversies

Trump said on Wednesday’s event isn’t a rally and this is we’re talking about a thing called economy and they wanted to do a speech on the economy. “He did not identify who “they” are, but he added and “they say it’s most important subject. I think crime is right there. The border is right there, personally. We have a lot of important subjects.

I think crime is right there and the border is right there, personally. We have a lot of important subjects because our country has become a “Third World Nations”

Trump did lay out some policy proposals which includes a previously unannounced goal.

“Under my leadership, the United States will commit to the ambitious goal of slashing energy and electricity prices by half, at least half,” in the first 18 months of a second administration, he said.

He then added in a quick caveat: “And if it doesn’t work out, you say, ‘Oh, well, I voted for him. I still got it down a lot.’”

Trump said on Wednesday that he would bring the prices down with rapid approvals for the new energy infrastructure unlocking new lands for drilling and reduced regulations which he said would make the country “energy dominant”

The U. S. is already the world’s largest producer of crude oil as perched by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Trump targeted Harris and Biden on the issue of economy and the border – the two areas that Trump’s allies have said that.

Trump said: “Kamala has declared that defeating inflation is a Day One goal, yet Day One for Kamala was 3½ years ago. Why didn’t she do it?”

“She is a critic,” he said remembering the end of the conversation between the two leading characters of the show, the Empress, played by Elizabeth McGovern, and Cora, portrayed by Elizabeth’s real-life friend Laura Carmichael. Trump also claimed that Harris will bring them ‘Kamala economic crash’, a depression like the 1929 one in case she is victorious in the election He made a similar estimate in 2020 regarding Biden.

Comments on Windmills and Upcoming Events

There were also several other sidebars within the comments, such as Trump’s continued bashing of windmills — he has talked about not spending on wind and solar — and a parting shot at Biden as he previewed next week’s virtual Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“You know when he’s speaking? On Monday. Monday is — that’s the worst day, but that’s what they do, and it’s their own form of — it’s just another, I guess, relatively, it’s a minor form of cheating,” he said
