Tornadoes and Tragedy in Florida as Milton Looms!

United States: At least 19 tornadoes have hit Florida because of Hurricane Milton’s outer bands. During a press briefing on Wednesday evening, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that there have been 116 tornado warnings in the state, with those 19 tornadoes already confirmed, even before the hurricane has made landfall.
State officials said that will only be exacerbated in the next 24 hours.
As reported by nbc2, the governor said he has never known a storm in this country where there were so many tornado warnings given. Such tornado-warned storms moved through the state, and they created significant destructive patterns.
They report that there are also casualties in the tornadoes, according to officials, St. Lucie County recorded multiple deaths due to tornadoes. They said the fatalities are in the Spanish Lakes Community.
Hurricane Milton as of 8 p.m. Wednesday was aimed at losing some steam but remained a monstrous storm as it was located about 20 miles (30 kilometers) west-southwest of Sarasota, Florida and had maximum sustained winds of 120 mph (195 kph), according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
The third category storm was “on the verge of going Yielding a speed of 15 mph (28 kph), it was moving northeast and had slightly slowed from the speed it had earlier in the afternoon.
So the more specifically the U.S. National Hurricane Center defines the term official landfall: that is when the center of a tropical cyclone reaches the coastline. However, that is not necessarily the case, which also means that is not necessarily also when the storm’s full force will whip up ominous winds.
The region of maximum wind velocities in the tropical cyclone is not exactly in the center of the cyclone it means that a cyclone may have its strongest winds over the land even if actual land fall does not take place. Likewise, ‘it is possible for a tropical cyclone to make landfall and still have all of the strongest winds stay offshore,’ the center states on the website.
