Severe Snowstorm and Flooding Cause Nationwide Disruptions

United States: Yellow warnings for snow and ice have been issued as wintry weather caused travel problems and forced many students to miss school. The warning which is typically is in effect from 5pm on Monday to 10am on Tuesday, covering parts of south-west, north-west, and central England, as well as Wales.
As reported by TheGuardian.com, the same warning has been issued for western and northern areas of Scotland between 4pm Monday and midday on Tuesday and for Northern Ireland between 3pm Monday and 11am Tuesday. There is a special one for snow in southern England on Wednesday from 9am through to 11.59pm.
A separate warning for possible disruptive snow in the southern counties and south London starts 0900GMT on Wednesday and continues all day.
Again, because of heavy snow, major airports such as Manchester closed their airports for a while and with many cars stuck or accidentally colliding on major highways throughout north of England.

It follows heavy snow or icy rainfall across most parts of the UK over the weekend for which the Met Office had put out amber weather warnings.
Met Office told the travelers that there is more travel chaos ahead in response to freezing conditions including flooding due to intense rainfall and snow melt with over 165 flood advisories and 300 flood advisories.
National Highways added that M5 in Gloucestershire was closed southbound from junction 11A for Gloucester to junction 12 for Quedgeley due to flood damage as well as the A66 over the Pennines was shut in both directions.
Flooding also shut a section of the A46 in both directions in Warwickshire as a result of a lorry accident during the night. Delays became expected to be in place until Monday evening with diversions.

Police in south Wales alerted that the A48 was shut down from the Llanedeyrn roundabout due to a serious road accident, which saw traffic moving in the east bound direction occupying only one lane.
Passengers found issues on the rail throughout the system and were urged to check before they journeyed.
Derby to Nottingham lines were blocked by floods its impact affecting Cross-country as well as the East Midlands Railway. Some of the trains were slowed down; however, trains traveling between Gloucester and Bristol were among the affected.
