Is Ohio Turning Red Again? Trump Leads Harris by 6 Points!
Trump leads Harris by 6 points in Ohio, reflecting GOP strength, while a tight Senate race reveals mixed voter views on immigration.

United States: Former President Trump is leading Vice President Harris by 6 points in Ohio, according to a new poll from the Washington Post. This is similar to how Trump did in 2020 when he won Ohio by 8 points against President Biden.
Ohio, which was once a swing state randomly, has become safely red during the tenure of Trump. Ohio also went for Trump as a president during the 2016 election.
It also disputes an essential Senate contest in this round.
As reported by the hill, the poll conducted showed that the Democratic candidate for the Ohio seat Sen. Sherrod Brown and his GOP challenger Bernie Moreno are virtually tied, with Brown leading by a single percentage point. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ poll average gives Brown a lead of less than 2%.
In the context of the census-based redistricting, Democrats were to have virtually no realistic shot at maintaining a Senate majority absent a Brown win. Still, Democrats will more than likely need Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) to win his seat, and Tester has trailed GOP challenger Tim Sheehy.
Ohio is the epicenter of the lie peddled by Trump and his running mate, Vance that Haitian migrants living in the town of Springfield had been abducting and consuming pets.
According to the poll, 76 per cent of the voters did not think the false claims about the pets were true but 24 per cent said the statements about the pets were ‘probably’ or ‘definitely’ true.
Trump and Vance have taken a lot of flak for the airing of the stories, with GOP officials including Ohio Governor Mike DeWine dismissing the claims as mere fables.
The Post news poll also revealed that almost half of Ohio voters had read or heard ‘a lot’ about the city’s Haitian immigrant community twenty-four days after the first comments.
Also, in another question conducted among the Ohio voters, only 42% felt that Haitian immigrants are harming their communities, 32% felt they were benefiting them, 16% respondents said these immigrants are having no impact to their communities.
Moreno, like many other GOP candidates has focused immigration-based messages in his Senate race with the Post poll showing 43 percent of the registered voters saying he would do a better job handling the issue compared to his democratic opponent.
