Gun Violence Erupts at Phoenix Airport on Christmas Night

United States: On Christmas night, three people were shot and another person was stabbed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona. The incident happened at a restaurant in Terminal 4, outside the security area. Police arrived around 9:45 p.m. and found the three people with gunshot wounds. The attack was part of a family dispute.
Later that day, officers detained a juvenile female and a man in the parking garage. Phoenix police said the man had at least one stab wound.
Reeson believes the shooting was a family dispute that got out of hand.
He said all five people involved in the shootout are known to each other.
As reported by the CNN, four of the victims were driven to a hospital. Police said early Thursday that one woman shot suffered critical injuries, two of the men who suffered gunshot wounds are in stable condition and the stabbing victim is stable.

No charges had been filed against the Islamist suspects who were detained early Thursday, police said, and police had yet to interview those detained. She added that weapons had been recovered.
“We don’t see any suspects out there,” she said.
It’s unclear whether group was at the airport to travel or for another reason.
“This is scary,” Reeson said. “It was Christmas evening. People are trying to get home, everybody.”
Terminal 4’s security checkpoint was closed briefly after gunfire fire forced the temporary closure; a Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport spokesperson told CNN in an email.
Early Thursday the airport spokesperson said the incident had been resolved and operations were back to ‘normal’.
The attacker adding to the chaos came in with a gun after a man heard misinformation that there was an active shooter at the airport, police said. Reeson said the man in the separate incident was held after an altercation with police.
Detectives are working to put the pieces together to see what caused the shooting, but police said there are ‘no active threats at the airport’ and that flights aren’t being affected.
Reeson added that ‘everything pretty much went back pretty quickly’ and that all food court restaurants were closed during the incident.
