First U.S.-Made Long-Range Missiles Fired Into Russia

United States: Moscow says Ukrainian forces launched 6 U.S.-made missiles into Russian territory on Tuesday, with Russia shooting down five and damaging the sixth. The missile debris landed near a Russian military base, but only caused a small fire and no injuries. A U.S. official confirmed the attack.
As reported by the Fox News, while delinking intelligence from defense it was noted that Russia said it intercepted five of the missiles and injured the sixth. It further stated that debris fell in the vicinity of a Russian military site and no loss of life was reported apart from small fire incident at the site.
An official with the United States said it was true that the military had conducted a raid during the night while talking to Fox News.
The attack happened a mere two days after President Biden sanctioned Ukraine permission to fires American long-range missiles on Russian territory-an aggression that Russian President Putin has stated would represent an invasion.
One might recall that Biden made this decision after Russia decided to invite 10,000 North Korean soldiers into the battle against Ukraine in Kursk. A second official of the pentagon said to Fox it is still unknown whether Bidens wants to authorize the use of the missiles every where, other than the Kursk region.
The White House National Security Council also responded to Putin’s decision to modernize Russia’s nuclear policy on Tuesday as well.
Earlier this month, we were not surprised when Russia declared it would be updating its nuclear doctrine; Russia had been telegraphing its interest in updating the doctrine for over six weeks. Where there has been no shift in Russia’s nuclear rhetoric, we can say that we have not felt compelled to alter our nuclear policies or posturing based on Russia’s comments of today,” an NSC spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
I think this is rather an irresponsible statement from Russia that we have seen for the last two years. As we told Russia weeks ago, Russia’s use of DPRK soldiers in combat operations against Ukraine is a gross escalation of its war of choice against Ukraine and we warned that the United States would respond,” the statement continued.
The announcement came after Great Britain and France granted Ukraine the permission to begin SCALP/Storm Shadow missile raids, the French newspaper Le Figaro said.
