Drone Accident Leaves 7-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured

United States: Several small drones which have collided and fell into a crowd during a holiday drone show in Florida on Saturday night. A 7-year-old boy who was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Paramedics somehow treated the boy at the scene om the spot before he was actually transported to the hospital.
Police detectives from the Orlando Police Department has already arrived at the scene and later followed up with the victim’s family at the hospital, according to authorities.
As reported by CBS News, Adriana Edgerton and Jessica Lumedge said to CBS News that the injured person was their 7-year-old son, Alezander and said he required an emergency surgery on his heart. Reporting to CBS affiliate WKMG, they said that one of the drones attacked their son on the stomach.
Green one came directly at us and I moved to the left and my son to the right – and it hit my son, Lumedge said to CBS news.

WKMG reported that Lumedge said doctors explained to her that the drone stunned his heart.
It seems that the biggest thing is him right now, and just figuring out what is going on with him,” Edgerton said to CBS News.
Police in the area will assist the FAA in the investigation of the collision.
Saturday’s collision happened around 6:45 PM and It went up at local time, government officials declared. A second light show, planned for 8 pm, did not take place as the city of Orlando said there were some technical issues.
Light shows and drone arrays are regulated by the FAA, the FAA says it has “rigorously” reviewed each drone show to ensure that people in the airborne and ground are secure.

The FAA goes over a few aspects such as the software that controls the drones, the protocols regarding the process of creating safe as well as restricted zones to ensure people stay away from the drones, the protocols in case a drone or a few of the drones fail and the protocols that exist in case an aircraft approaches the show.
The Orlando officials estimate that 25, 000 fans turn up to watch the drones. This was the third consecutive year for the holiday drone show, and it was performed by Sky Elements, according to Orlando authorities.
