2024 Election Drama: Trump Missing, Harris and Walz Energize Voters Amid Fierce Attacks
The 2024 Midwest campaign heats up with Trump’s absence, Harris’s energetic rallies, and intense attacks from both sides.

United States: The 2024 election is heating up with very major focus on the Midwest almost, a key area that could decide the outcome. On the first big day of this crucial phase, former President Donald Trump was noticeably absent.
As reported by CNN, instead, his campaign stepped up its efforts. Ohio Senator JD Vance, Trump’s vice-presidential pick, attacked Vice President Kamala Harris’s new running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Vance accused Walz of avoiding military service in Iraq by retiring from the Army National Guard in 2005 to run for Congress. This criticism shows how fierce the competition is as candidates fight for every advantage.
Vance Criticizes Walz’s Military Service
Ohio Senator JD Vance has criticized Tim Walz’s military record, accusing him of avoiding service in Iraq when he left the Army National Guard in 2005 to run for Congress. Vance claims Walz dropped out to avoid deployment, while Vance himself served in Iraq with the Marine Corps.
Walz, who almost served 24 years in the National Guard, retired in May 2005, just before his unit was alerted for deployment. Walz’s service included support roles but did not involve combat zones.
Harris and Walz’s Energetic Campaigning
Despite Trump’s absence, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz were very active. They held exciting rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan, showing that their campaign is full of energy. Harris made a dramatic entrance in Michigan, arriving on Air Force Two, like Trump’s previous campaign style.
At her rally, she confidently handled interruptions from hecklers in Detroit, which made headlines and went viral on social media. This helped boost her popularity and showed that she is settling into her role as a leading candidate.
Trump’s Response and Vance’s Focus on Local Issues
Trump’s team was caught off guard by Harris’s strong start. Trump criticized Harris and her running mate on social media and planned a press conference to try to regain control of the narrative. Meanwhile, Vance focused on key issues for voters in Wisconsin, like high prices and housing costs.
He also questioned Walz’s military service, trying to highlight concerns about his credibility.
Biden’s Warning and Campaign Dynamics
As the campaign intensifies, President Joe Biden has warned about potential threats to democracy posed by Trump. Even though Biden is specially no longer the main focus of the race, his comments add to the ongoing political tension.
This election is shaping up to be highly competitive, with major consequences for the country’s future.
